Fostering positive values to face different emotions and experiences with a positive outlook
The Discipline Committee organized an inter-class basketball shooting competition at the beginning of the school year. This was basically a class management activity to boost school cohesion and team spirit. It also helped promote communication and strengthen the bond between teachers and students. By holding these different inter-class competitions, we subtly help all students in their daily school life to switch from just passively following rules to proactively cultivating a good character and self-discipline.
To tackle the different disciplinary issues in the previous year, we organised a "How Much Do You Know About School Rules?" booth game in the first term. This was a more lively way for all students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of our school regulations (as well as values education and anti-drug information) so as to enhance their discipline and build a positive, healthy outlook on life.
Students being able to set suitable goals based on their personal traits and put them into practice
School Prefects handle daily matters, e.g. leading F.1 students in activities on the "F.1 Orientation Day", acting as emcees for various events, maintaining order before the morning assembly announcements, introducing educational current affairs or newspaper reports during assemblies, designing some parts of the prefect training, planning booth games or assembly activities, following up on F.1 students’ school life adaptation, teaching them how to knot a tie, etc.
Through the above, we hope to lead students to good deeds, telling right from wrong, and building a sense of responsibility, accountability, and law-abiding spirit. At the same time, it lets the prefects practise their leadership roles, face the public, set a role model for other students, and inspire them to pursue excellence.
Our team also runs different training activities for the prefects, e.g. campus abseiling/rappelling, in order to foster their courage and self-confidence, while also strengthening everyone’s discipline, responsibility, and sense of teamwork.
