Learning Goals

The aims of the Design and Technology curriculum are to enable students to:

develop technological capability to identify needs, problems, and opportunities, communicate and evaluate solutions, and make informed decisions;

strengthen technological understanding to understand the interdisciplinary nature of technological activities, the concepts, knowledge, and process of different technologies;

promote technological awareness to be aware of the cultural and contextual dependence of developing technologies, and their impact on the individual, family, society, and environment;

enhance learning from skill-based or content-based teaching towards learning and teaching for a balanced development of technological capability, understanding, and awareness; and

learn through life-wide and life-long learning.
