Working Objectives
School Administration Board (SAB)
- To assist the school to plan, determine, steer and evaluate the overall objectives and policies for the development of the school.
- To build up a consensus on various subject panels and committees to ensure a good balance between academic achievement and other development of students.
- To examine and advise on major proposals submitted by the subject panels and committees.
- To supervise, coordinate and assess the functions of various subject panels and committees of the school and to guide their future development.
- To serve as a bridge between the decision-maker and general staff.
- Membership of the SAB: Principal, Vice principals, Teaching & Learning master, 2 Key Learning Areas Coordinators (by rotation) , Counselling Master, Discipline Master, Extra-curricular Activities Master, Moral & Civic Education Master, Life Planning Education Master and 2 Teacher Representatives (by election).
Academic Development Board (ADB)
- To assist the school to plan, determine and steer the aims and objectives of the school in connection with academic development.
- To ensure, with the work of SDB, a good balance between academic achievement and other development of students so that they may possess expected knowledge, attitude, and skills to adapt to their future life.
- To suggest new plans and policies to the Principal and School Administrative Board on issues related to academic development.
- To supervise and coordinate the functions of various committees under ADB and subject panels.
- To collect and study information concerning the current teaching methods and related education policies, to introduce and explain their studies to colleagues in due course, to coordinate the implementation of some teaching methods and policies if possible arise.
- Members of the ADB: Principal, Vice principals, Teaching & Learning Master, Examination Master, I.T. & Audio Visual Master, Library and Reading Promotion Master, STEAM Education Master and Subjects Panel Heads.
Student Development Board (SDB)
- To plan, determine, and steer the objectives and policies on the overall development of students.
- To ensure, with the work of ADB, a good balance between academic achievement and other development of students so that they may possess expected knowledge, attitude, and skills to adapt to their future life.
- To build up a consensus on pastoral care and student development among the committees under SDB.
- To Propose and coordinate the member committees to carry out mass campaigns in our school.
- To suggest new plans or policies to the Principal/SAB on pastoral care issues.
- To supervise and coordinate Form affairs.
- Members of the SDB: Principal, Vice principals, Form Coordinators, Counselling Master, Discipline Master, ECA Master, Home-school cooperation Master, Life Planning Education Master and Moral & Civic Education Master.
Teaching and Learning Committee
- Develop and review curriculum frameworks to ensure alignment with the school’s objectives and Education Bureau standards.
- Promote evidence-based teaching methodologies and innovative instructional strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Organize professional development programs for teaching staff and foster interdisciplinary collaborative learning communities.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching quality and student achievement through data-driven assessments and classroom observations.
- Coordinate academic support initiatives—including remedial instruction, enrichment programs, and differentiated learning strategies.
Examination Committee
- To provide students with ideal exams and tests environment.
- To provide students fair and efficient exams and tests procedures.
- To assist the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority in facilitating public examinations.
Information Technology & Audio-visual Committee
- To facilitate administration and management through the use of computers.
- To provide students’ information within the school in using IT across the curriculum for reference and application.
- To assist teachers in other committees with advice on computer application.
- To promote more frequent applications of IT for teaching, learning and extra-curricular activities.
- To let students learn through internet.
- To build up effective skills in handling IT information and lifelong self-learning.
- To purchase new audio-visual equipment to facilitate teaching.
- To assist teachers in producing audio-visual teaching materials and apply in daily classroom teaching.
- To encourage teachers participate in seminars to develop their own teaching materials.
Library and Reading Promotion Committee
- Develop and implement library management policies to ensure efficient operations and equitable access to resources.
- Curate, acquire, and maintain diverse print and digital collections that support both curricular needs and reading interests.
- Organize reading promotion activities—such as reading weeks, book fairs, author talks, and book clubs—to foster a vibrant reading culture.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom instruction and enhance students’ research and information‐literacy skills.
- Leverage social media, newsletters, and in‐library displays to highlight new acquisitions, reading challenges, and community reviews.
- Monitor library usage and reading program outcomes; collect stakeholder feedback and recommend strategic improvements.
STEAM Committee
- Design and implement an integrated STEAM curriculum to foster interdisciplinary thinking and innovation among students.
- Organize STEAM workshops, exhibitions, competitions, and maker events that engage students in hands-on, project-based learning.
- Provide professional development and resources for teachers to enhance STEAM pedagogy and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Establish partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and arts organizations to enrich STEAM learning resources and opportunities.
- Support student-led STEAM projects, clubs, and research initiatives to cultivate inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of STEAM programs, collecting data and feedback to guide continuous improvement.
External Liaison Committee
- Liaise with committees and departments to develop strategic promotion and publicity plans that highlight the school’s achievements and strengths to external audiences.
- Leverage community resources to introduce the school’s unique features to local residents and primary schools, fostering a positive perception among prospective students and parents.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with district primary and secondary schools, as well as strategic partners.
- Produce and publish school publications and promotional videos to showcase the school’s accomplishments in teaching and student development.
- Oversee and coordinate online promotion efforts to enhance the school’s public image.
General Affairs Committee
- To monitor major and minor repairs, furniture and equipment, so as to raise the effectiveness on teaching and the sense of belonging of students.
- To supervise maintenance, repairs and replacement to minimize the technical problems caused on teaching.
Student Affairs Committee
- To provide students’ information when needed.
- To establish a comprehensive database of students.
- To help students apply for subsidies or assistance.
- To supervise tuck shop and lunchbox supplier, so that they provide hygienic food at reasonable price.
Guidance and Discipline Committee
Discipline
- Students:
To teach students obey school rules voluntarily and hence start to love and care about others with a sense of discipline and responsibility. - Teachers and Staff:
To keep close relationship among teachers and staff and provide comfortable teaching environment for teachers. Students are taught to distinguish rights from wrongs and led to establish a right set of values towards life. - Parents:
To strengthen communication between parents and teachers.
Counselling
- Strengthen classroom management to promote students' mental health.
- Strengthen peer counseling training to expand the student safety net.
Extra-curricular Activities Committee
- To provide students with chances to raise their confidence, sense of satisfaction, as well as belonging to the school.
- To encourage students to keep their promise, so as to develop a sense of responsibility and a passion to serve others in need.
- To foster leaders to assist in the extra-curricular activities.
- To strengthen the roles of Houses, Clubs and Societies.
- To develop students’ potential on the provision of different extra-curricular activities.
- To gain the support from parents by getting them to know the extra-curricular activities inside and outside school.
Home-school Co-operation Committee
- To facilitate the PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) affairs to set up a communication network among parents and teachers.
- To let parents know the importance of home-school operation and hence participate in various activities.
Life Planning Education
- To help students discover their ability and develop effective learning strategies accordingly.
- To develop a habit of self-learning in students. By realizing the importance of learning, students obtain a higher level in academic and hence have more chances in further studies.
- To provide students with a wide scope of horizon and understanding of different career paths. Hence, students are able to specialize in their profession.
Moral and Civic Education Committee
- To help students develop positive values of life, possess good conducts and equip them with independence thinking. As a result, they can become responsible citizens with insight.
- To promote Values Education through nurturing in students the twelve priority values and attitudes: "Perseverance", "Respect for Others", "Responsibility", "National Identity", "Commitment", "Integrity", "Benevolence", "Law-abidingness", "Empathy", "Diligence”, “Unity" and “Filial Piety”, and put them into practice in their daily lives.
- Let students value their roles in a group and take responsible actions.
Alumni
- Establish and maintain an alumni network to foster connections and interactions between the school and its alumni.
- Organize alumni events (e.g., reunions, lectures, career-sharing sessions) to strengthen bonds and facilitate resource sharing.
- Collect and maintain a comprehensive alumni database, regularly updating contact information and career progress.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of alumni activities and report findings to the administrative board with recommendations for improvement.
Crisis Management Team
- Coordinate, manage and handle all types of crises and emergency incidents.
- Through on- and off-campus crisis assessment and prevention, minimize potential crises; and by executing effective response and follow-up measures, restore normal campus operations and functions as quickly as possible.
- Raise teachers’ awareness of possible serious accidents or crises.
- Equip teachers with crisis prevention methods, crisis-resolution techniques and post-crisis follow-up procedures.
Inclement Weather Contingent Management Team
- Through multiple channels (e.g., school website, eClass), promptly disseminate weather-related arrangements to staff, students and parents, preventing information delays.
- Regularly inspect buildings, drainage systems and trees; conduct risk assessments and carry out repairs before and after adverse weather.
- During school opening periods, care for students who have already arrived and, when conditions permit, ensure their safe departure from campus.
National Security Education
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing initiatives to safeguard national security and promote national security education, formulating and implementing related measures through a whole-school participation model.
School Ceremony
- Draft detailed procedures for major events (e.g., opening ceremony, graduation ceremony, closing ceremony) to ensure each ceremony is solemn, smooth and educationally meaningful.
- Coordinate venue setup, audio-visual equipment, photography and videography arrangements to prevent technical issues on site.
- Plan crowd-control measures and emergency evacuation routes, and assign personnel to manage unforeseen incidents.
- Gather feedback from staff, students and parents after each event; analyze insights and recommend improvements to enhance the quality of future ceremonies.
School Safety
Conduct a comprehensive review and implementation of safety measures to ensure all on-campus safety and health protocols comply with Education Bureau guidelines, including equipment maintenance, hazardous-materials management, and fire-prevention measures.
First Aid/ Medical Inspection Room
- Manage on-campus first aid facilities.
- Coordinate first aid response at incident scenes, including provision of equipment (e.g., privacy screens, first aid supplies, designated treatment area).
- Provide first aid and care for staff and students in need.
- Complete injury and hospital-referral records for affected staff and students.
School Office & Janitors
- Oversee and manage the operations and duties of the School Office and janitorial staff.
Staff Development & Affairs
- Support teachers in enhancing their professional educational standards.
- Create a fair, proactive, and well-regulated teaching environment.
- Organize Teacher Development Days and maintain records of teacher training participation.
Student Support
- Promote inclusive education based on the Education Bureau’s five core principles: early identification, early support, whole-school participation, home-school collaboration, and cross-sector collaboration.
- Using a whole-school participation model, align school policies, culture building, and support measures to address learning differences and provide appropriate support for students with special educational needs.
- Establish a regular communication mechanism to discuss student-support strategies with parents.
- Deliver diversified learning support for students in need, including special examination arrangements, speech therapy, after-school homework tutorials, and exam-revision classes.
- Offer a variety of inclusive activities—such as small-group training, post-exam events, and career-planning experiences—to ensure students enjoy a fulfilling campus life.
Timetabling
- Arrange the school’s class timetable (regular classes / online classes / post-exam marking).
Tung Wah Related Matters Team
- Arrange and manage on-campus TWGHs charity events, including publicity, staffing, material distribution, and donation collection and handling.
- Coordinate student attendance at joint activities with the 18 TWGHs secondary schools—such as inter-school graduation ceremonies, athletics meets, and variety performances.
- Organize and oversee student activities hosted by TWGHs or co-hosted with other organizations, including on-campus promotion and student registration and participation coordination.
WebSAMS, Data, Aggregation & Analysis
- Manage and utilize the Education Bureau’s administrative management system.
- Integrate all operational school data in the WebSAMS standard format for centralized recording.
- Analyze internal school data—including predicted DSE scores, DSE performance analysis, and overall academic results—to enable subject panels and departments to formulate appropriate teaching measures.
